Best Stretches to do While Hiking

ree

I notice a real difference when I take time to stretch on my longer multi-day hikes!

As part of my kit I always take an old-school, cheap foam mat. It has a number of purposes and I have cut it in half to save some weight:

  1. It provides insulation under, or on top of, my air mattress.

  2. I have it on the outside of my pack so I can whip it out a rest stops to sit on.

  3. For doing stretches on!

Here are the stretches I find best to do after arriving at camp and before setting out each morning:

  1. Glutes

  2. Calfs

  3. Hamstrings

  4. Groin

  5. Hip Flexors

  6. Back

  7. Inner thighs

  8. Sides
