Our ankles need to be well protected for hiking as they are constantly under pressure and movement. Here are our top tips on how to get them well TrekPrepped:
Boots
Ensure you have a well-fitting, worn in pair of boots that have good support if you need it.
Skipping
Skipping exercises on a daily basis help with the elasticity of the Achilles tendon.
Calf Raises
Single leg calf raises help to build up the calf muscles and in turn protect the ankles.
Knee & Hip Stability
Creating knee and hip stability will prevent a knock-on effect. If one part isn't working correctly or efficiently another will compensate and the effects could be disastrous!
