Two Instant Oat Recipes


I like to eat oats when I hike. They're filling and quick - I just add either cold or hot water, usually depending on how cold the weather is. Hot oats warm you up on a cold day, but the recipes work well with cold water as well.

These recipes are per serving. I prefer to measure the ingredients out into individual bags so that each serving is exactly the same.

The make them up in the morning, simply tip the bag contents into your bowl, pot or mug and add 125ml of hot or cold water. Leave for 10-15 minutes for the oats to soften and the chia seeds to soak.




Blueberry & Coconut Oats

80ml cup of oats - rolled, quick or a combination of the two

2 dsp coconut milk powder

1/2 tsp brown sugar

1 dsp chia seeds

1 tbsp dried blueberries

1 dsp toasted coconut flakes


Apple & Cinnamon Oats

80ml cup of oats - rolled, quick or a combination of the two

2 tsp milk powder

1/2 tsp brown sugar

1 dsp chia seeds

4 chopped dried apple rings

1/4 tsp powdered cinnamon
